Day 2 Blog

My first Israeli brekky and then onto the bus at 9am to go to Mahane Yehuda Market. We walked in light rain but the scrumptious sights and smells took the dampness away. We had lots of tastings, tea and coffee too and then walked it off (some of it at least) then back to the warmth of the bus and more information bring imparted by David our tour guide.
We then drove to the Herzl museum. What another amazing experience! The Israelis certainly know how to do this well. Back on bus, it had stopped raining and lunch awaited us.
Lunch was at Ima – great food. The appetite definitely came with the eating.
We made our way to the Kotel to welcome in Shabbat. What an exciting and emotive experience this was.
Being part of a group of special ladies was so good. Huge numbers of people young and old from so many corners of the globe, all bringing in Shabbat together was amazing. Walking back through the Old City of Jerusalem was very interesting, especially through the Arab Shuk. The full moon and clear skies were very invigorating.
Shabbat dinner back at the Inbal Hotel was superb. So much food!
And so ended a very busy day.
