Hala Goldstone z'I

Hala Goldstone z'I ( 1920 - 1980) was born in Russia and hailed from Zionist parents, Tania and Wolf Saks.

She joined WIZO in her late teens and worked in WIZO Younger Set, and then WIZO Hadassim, in many capacities, finally taking on the office of President.

Simultaneously with her group work, Hala became active on the WIZO State Council of Victoria as Fundraising Chairman. During that time she inaugurated the Child Of The Year Contest which grew into Victoria's largest single fundraising activity.

In later years she became Vice President of the Victorian State Council and Treasurer of the WIZO Federation of Australia.

She readily gave of her outstanding creative ability and energy to various causes.

She passed on her zeal to her son Alan and her daughter Marian Krongold who was an active member of WIZO Ziona.

Her love for Israel and the Jewish People and her understanding and capacity to help others, endeared her to all her many friends and and coworkers and earned her their love, respect and admiration.
