Luba Smorgon z'l

Luba Smorgon z"| was born in Czarist Russia in 1898. Together with her husband and two young sons she arrived in Melbourne in the 1920s. Luba joined WIZO Negba, rising to the position of President. She was an ardent Zionist and committed WIZO woman driving many fundraising efforts. Her family remembers her success in selling thousands of WIZO raffle tickets to her family and friends. She was the matriarch of a large family who have been very actively involved and generous to many organisations in their support of Israel. Luba passed away in 1988 at the age of 80.
