Nina Richwol
Nina Richwol was born in Tel Aviv in 1953 and moved with her family to Melbourne the following year. She attended Princes Hill Primary School, Caulfield North Central and Brighton High School. As a teenager she was a member of Habonim Nina's first connection with WIZO was as a candidate in the JNF Queen Competition when she was 15.
It was not until she was in her 50's and visited WIZO Australia's Boarding School, Ahuzat Yeladim in Haifa and saw the compassion and dedication of the staff towards the young people in their care, that she decided to become more committed to WIZO. In 2011 Nina joined the WIZO State Council of Victoria and took on the position of Public Affairs Officer. (this later became Community Liaison Officer) and delegate to the National Council of Women of Victoria (NCWV), whose goal is to encourage women to participate in all aspects of community life. Nina was appointed NCWV Legislation Advisor 2012 - 2016. She also became WIZO Victoria's delegate to the United Nations Association of Australia, Victorian branch in 2011 and has served as Chair of the Status of Women Committee. To both Organizations, Nina has reported on legislation regarding family issues in Israel, the progress of WIZO's projects, highlights of WIZO EGM Conferences and has invited many women's organizations to attend WIZO Victoria's events. In 2016 Nina became a member of the WIZO Australia, holding the office of Chairman of Community Liaison.
A mother of three daughters and three granddaughters, Nina worked as a museum curator managing artefact collections and creating exhibitions for government and the corporate sector. Every visit to Israel gives her an opportunity to visit one of WIZO's marvellous projects and museums. Through these museums she always learns something new about Israel. Throughout all this she still has time to be an active member of WIZO Masada, one of WIZO Victoria's strongest groups.
