Ronit Chrapot
Ronit was born in Afula, Israel to parents Evon z’l and Itzhak z’l Shoshana. Her passion for helping the needy stemmed from watching her mother.
After High School she enlisted in the army as Mashakit Chen, where she was in charge of all the girls on her base. Thus her connection to help and empower young women started at an early age. Following her service, she studied law in England.
After a year she decided to travel and landed in Australia in 1997 where she met her husband Marcus. They married in 2000 and have four beautiful children.
In her early years in Melbourne, Ronit was looking for a way to maintain her connection to Israel, and found it in WIZO. Her passion for WIZO started 12 years ago when she became a member of WIZO Chavera. Two years later she became President of WIZO Dor, a young Israeli group.
Ronit was President of WIZO Dor for 10 years. During that time, she organised many and varied events, and still continues to be creative with her fundraising opportunities.
In 2013 Ronit attended the WIZO Aviv conference in Israel. It was an inspirational experience for her. On her return she became involved in WIZO Victoria’s Aviv Gala, where she addressed over 300 young women about WIZO.
In 2014 Ronit finished her studies as a Hypnotherapist.
Ronit became Vice President of WIZO Victoria in 2018 and became a member of WIZO Australia’s Executive. She is currently a Vice President of WIZO Australia.
In 2020 Ronit was elected President of WIZO Victoria. Her first year was very challenging with the emergence of COVID – 19. Despite all the difficulties Ronit rose above them all and ensured that WIZO Victoria continued to flourish. Ronit and her team ran monthly Webinars to stay connected with members and supporters.
Ronit believes that dreams come true like the founding mothers of WIZO that made the impossible, possible.
Ronit is a young and dynamic woman who looks forward to continuing the work that WIZO does, transforming the life of Israeli society.
