Jess Hoffman z'l
Jess Hoffman became the first State President for WIZO Queensland in 1959, and held the position for an astonishing 21 years. She was Vice President of the WIZO Federal Executive, as well as a WIZO Life Member.
Outside of her WIZO commitments, Jess was widely respected in Queensland thanks to her involvement in the broader community. She was President and a Life Member of the Kindercraft Day Nursery for 25 years. She formed the Hamilton Brownies and led them for five years. She volunteered in the shop at the Freemason’s Home in Sandgate, launched the Judean Girl Guides, served on the Lady Mayoress committee, opened a thrift shop to fund Kindercraft, and even volunteered for the Red Cross during the war.
Her Daughter Pam Huppert is the current WIZO Queensland State President.
